Larry is self-taught and has learned about color and flow through experimentation. There is nothing more rewarding to Dr. Silver then picking colors and telling a story through manipulation of the paint in multiples ways. Through a combination of color and symbolism he creates beauty with a positive energy. For years he would make close friends and family very different pieces that were specifically designed for that person. After years of observing artistic gifts proudly displayed in the homes of friends and family, he was encouraged to create pieces professionally. 

When not painting, Dr. Silver practices as a podiatric surgeon since 1991. He is a board certified reconstructive foot and ankle surgeon. In addition, Dr. Silver is on the credential committee at New York Presbyterian Queens and is the Assistant Residency Director of it's foot surgical training program. Although creativity has it's place in surgery, most procedures are extremely repetitive. Precision and being exact are imperative to good reproduclulbe results. The dichotomy between surgery and painting is what makes the abstract world of art so appealing to him.
